Thousand-Hands Buddha
| This is a performance by a Chinese group. They are depicting Kuan Yin (Avalokiteshvara), the bodhisattva of compassion, with 1,000 arms and 11 heads. It's a really beautiful performance.
If it stops and starts while you're trying to play it, that's because it's trying to play faster than your computer can download it. Just turn off the sound, go get something to drink and let it play through once so it can completely download, then replay it. Enjoy! | |
this made me cry in the best way. thank you.

It is very beautful. I heard all those dancers are deaf and mute, do you think that is true?

Damchoe,
I heard the same thing, but I'm not sure if it's true or not.
I hope you keep blogging!

yes, I read on another Buddhist site that the dancers are all deaf & that they are going to eventually sell copies of the entire performance as a fundraiser for the dance school.
I've watched this over & over & over... It never gets old.

I saw a clip of their performance (in Chinese) on Google Videos - Amazing! I've been looking for more information in English. Thank you for explaining the performance!
