To the Moon, Alice!
So the semester is rolling along, and I've got a cold. I can't speak right now, a fact my friends are having fun with. At breakfast this morning, Ed said everyone could make fun of me and I couldn't do anything about it. I responded by showing him my fists and my best "Make my day, punk," face. He reminded me that I've taken vows against violence, but then realized it's a vow against killing specifically, so anything else is still on the table. Watch out!
I felt the cold coming on Sunday morning as soon as I woke up, so I started drinking large amounts of water immediately and Ed gave me some zink tablets. I stayed in bed a good bit of yesterday, so I didn't sleep much last night. I called off from work today at the bookstore, so I'll probably fall asleep as soon as I finish this post.
Saturday night Ven. Kiet set up his video projector and we watched "Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark" on a large screen in the second floor lounge. This is part of my plan to introduce Shakya to American cinema. Any suggestions on what I should show him? Leave me a message. We've already finished the original "Star Wars" trilogy.
Sunday night, we watched the Oscars on the same large screen. It's kind of strange to know that there's this whole other world happening here in the L.A. area that much of the globe watches on T.V., but our lives here are so normal. I've seen a couple of actors and media folks, like Dr. Drew who came to my register the other day, but by and large, all that Hollywood stuff might as well be happening on the moon.
OK, my eyes are drooping. Time for bed.
How about E.T.since you seem to be going with Harrison Ford movies.

I'm totally cutting directly to buddhist style movies. So here's a couple
Little Buddha
Samsara
I've seen Samsara (heh), and it's really good but the main characters are all monks. I guess it depends on who your audience is.
