Sleeping Beauty
I had a great day yesterday. I went to my uncle Terry and aunt Carol's house an hour north from here for my grandfather's 90th birthday party. I met relatives I didn't even know I have and got to catch up with some others I haven't seen in years.
My parents, both of my sisters, and my two nephews were there. When I walked in, Tommy came running down the stairs shouting "Uncle Buddha!" He jumped in my arms and gave me a big hug. Then it was hugs all around from more relatives. My grandpa is a little slower than I remember, but his mind is just as sharp. I met his wife Elsie, too. She's a lot of fun and she takes good care of him.
My cousin Michael was there. He's just a few months younger than me. My nephew Tommy was drawn to him, so we both took him out back a few times to tour the yard (Tommy is 4 but learned everyone's names right away).
Grandpa's gift was an electronic picture frame. You load the pics and it silently runs through them. It was interesting seeing old pics of the family and hearing stories from when my dad was a kid. Uncle Terry, my dad's younger brother, was quite the hell-raiser, but I learned that a long time ago.
I got home last night close to 10:00, but went down to Shakya's room to hang out with him and Danny. I ended up falling asleep at the end of Shakya's bed until almost midnight. They let me sleep, but Danny took this picture:
I should get some photos of the all the fun from family members soon. I'll post some pictures then.

Very cool! Family functions are always fun, if you have a good family.

I'm working on nearly ten thousand words on a very similar experience. We can say it was very different.
I'd love to trade links with you. I have already, happily, added you to mine.
Thanks for the writing.

My family is scattered throughout the San Gabriel Valley. A lot are concentrated in the Whittier and Pico Rivera area, a short drive down the freeway from Rosemead.
I feel homesick now. :)

Not much on my mind right now. Today was a complete loss. So it goes. I've just been sitting around waiting for something to happen. I've basically been doing nothing , but I guess it doesn't bother me.
