Tongdo-sa

Tongdo-sa is one of the three main temples in Korea, all of which are controlled by the Jogye order.  The other two are Hein-sa and Songgwang-sa.  Tongdo-sa is known for the Buddha relics housed in a stupa on the grounds.  I just found a website with a bit of history about Tongdo-sa and a bunch of photos here

The reason I'm posting this is becuase I will join the Tongdo-sa branch of the Jogye order.  My no sunim is the current abbot of Tongdo-sa.  Your no sunim is your master's master, so sort of like your grandparent within ordained sangha.  The photos look beautiful. I'm really looking forward to visiting there.

Hein-sa and Songgwang-sa can be viewed with these links.  Enjoy!

Hey Gyatso--I met you at TMC over the years--I live in San Francisco. I'm going to LA next week, so if you're in town [not in Korea] I'd love to visit! My dad lives in Whittier, and my mom in Pasadena. Email me and let me know! Terry Barrett is here now visiting, telling us about being Khenchen's asst...very fun!

Christine--
I just saw this message. You didn't leave your email address, though. Sorry I missed you and Terry.

Ven. Gyatso ~
Looks like a beautiful temple. I've learned that I may be visiting there in the fall.
